Kèr Íhtiy̼gès (Íhtiy̼ /gɛs/ [cafe] [semen]) is a subtropical Large Town located in Silverthmage Dutchy, Síhtiznur Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Kèr Íhtiy̼gès is derived from the Tauric language, as Kèr Íhtiy̼gès was founded by Zêpî Edwards Hanford, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Kèr Íhtiy̼gès has a yearly average temperature of 24°C (75°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 27°C (80°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 22°C (71°F). Overview

Kèr Íhtiy̼gès was founded durring the early 14th century in summer of the year 1332, by Zêpî Edwards Hanford. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Kèr Íhtiy̼gès was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the early 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kèr Íhtiy̼gès is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature delicute timber framework hidden behind layer upon layer of finly ground plaster bleached to an almost glossy white sheen, with green clay tiled roofs and decorative brass-leafed trim. Even the smallest, poorest looking structures appear to be expencive thanks to the extreem elegence of the organic shapes and paterns going into their lofty, spire-y, vagly gothic designs. The more well off folks live in identicle homes, save for even shiner trim and a more whimsical appearance to their structures flowing forms.

Kèr Íhtiy̼gès is buildings are arranged within a network of broad flagstone streets which form a rectangular grid, where each block verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller block has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town has a defencive wall made from large clay bricks. The wall is constructed to the exact specifications of millitary fortifications, but the nature of its clay brick construction leaves it vulnerable to even outdated siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. Unfortuantly, these brittle defences are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

A look around Kèr Íhtiy̼gès makes it abundantly clear the town suffered something horrible some time ago. It's as if the town itself is depressed. Smiles are few, cheer is nowhere to be had. Everyone quietly goes about their daily business not looking anyone in the eye.

Civic Infrastructure

Kèr Íhtiy̼gès has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Kèr Íhtiy̼gès. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Kèr Íhtiy̼gès's parks.

They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Kèr Íhtiy̼gès's natural decorations nor waterways.

Cultural Notes

Kèr Íhtiy̼gès's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known primarily for its use of abstraction and simplicity. Clean lines, right angles, and primary colors characterized this aesthetic and art movement expressed via architecture and paintings. Its design ethos allows only primary colors and non-colors, only squares and rectangles, only straight and horizontal or vertical lines. Vertical and horizontal lines are positioned in layers or planes that do not intersect, thereby allowing each element to exist independently and unobstructed by other elements. These seemingly impossible principals for an architectural style coalesces into structures which most experts find hard to put into words. It is not that their geometry is impossible, but rather the style's attempt at producing works only describable visually was most successful..
